See, the trouble (I find) with updating the journal is that it's usually a post that has some time or context attached to it. Something like "I'm not dead" or "I' almost finished X" or what-have-you.

And a couple of weeks go by, and it looks tacky and unfinished--especially since any comments I have about art I post usually go with the art, not on the journal, and more often than not whatever I'm saying I'll "post any time now" has been up for a while already.

Therefore, I am going to write a post that I think reflects certain essential truths, and not worry about updating it until they change or I find I start having more to say.

• I like horror.


• I paint and draw and do a little digital work, and my coloured stuff never looks as good as my black-and-white or greyscale.


• I take longer than I would like to do art (especially comics, which I don't put on DA since it annoys me to not have them show up in a smooth order), and take longer on the last 10% of a piece than on the first 50%.


• I hardly ever write off anything I've started as a bad idea. I do let it sit around unfinished and then worry about not finishing it.


• I would give my eyeteeth (but not anyone else's) to have Richard Upton Pickman's command of anatomy. Given that he's fictional, this is a little difficult.

That's everything I can think of right now.
